For a long time I’ve wanted to visit Carhenge. I don’t really know why, but even before I moved to Nebraska it intrigued me. The monoliths of the original Stonehenge are one of human history’s great mysteries, but a replica built out of old cars? It just seems so…. American. In a good way.
While on a road trip up to the Black Hills of South Dakota I decided to make sure that Alliance Nebraska was on the route. I had a lot of fun shooting this monolith. I shot in the late afternoon and had dinner in town, then drove back for some post sunset images.
