Way back when… some time in the late 70s, I got into photography on a new level with concert photography. For a year or two, it was a good time – then came reserved seating and camera bans. I still snuck my camera and zoom lens in to a few shows, and later brought in a small 35mm AF point and shoot. Fast forward almost 50 years and now every concert is awash with a sea of camera phones.

The past few years have allowed me to rekindle this passion with smaller local shows in rural Nebraska. I help organize Chesterfest and also do some work with the Thayer County Fair. So I am able to give myself a photo pass to these shows! 😀

Here’s a look back at a few years of local concerts in Thayer County. Some day, I’ll seriously scan my old film negatives and share those.
